I Wear My Sunglasses At Night

I don't know how to explain my relationship with sunglasses. I used to hate her. We never spoke. I was envious of how cool she was and thought she would never go out with me. I was convinced that we were in two different levels, way out of my league. Then one day it all changed.

My mom has this love for watching me spend money because I am so cheap when it comes to my own. Give me money and I will spend it before you finish the sentence, but my own money, that's another story. So I was out with her and she helped me along the way to buy a watch and 2 pairs of sunglasses, Classic Ray Ban Wayfarers and Ralph Lauren Aviators. To this day, they are my two favorite pairs. Now I have about 15 pairs and wear them all the time.

Choosing Sunglasses, do they have to match?
Sunglasses should compliment your face, not exaggerate your faults. So the the rounder the face the squarer the glasses. Big cheeks? Don't buy droopy glasses. When you put them on look at yourself in the mirror. Not as who you are, but who you want to be. Do they inspire you? Do you feel like a G when you wear them? Then you know it's the right pair.

Matching is over rated. They should go with the outfit but they don't need to have the same colors. I have these glasses where the lenses are slanted and 2 different sizes, they are the coolest things (I think so, my friends have labeled them ridiculous and "only you"). I think they can be worn with EVERYTHING, minus a suit. Suits look better with classic frames. A little color in the glasses with a dark suit is nice though too. Basically find a pair that suit your personality more than your outfit.

When Do I Have To Take My Hater Blockers Off?
Take them off when:

• Inside, see exceptions below
• Its night time, see exceptions below
• You meet someone new
• Serious conversations (this is a maybe category) Eye contact is important for these conversation so if you need the glasses because of the sun, keep them on, otherwise it's best to see the other person's eyes, more trust is built this way
• Business meetings

It is appropriate to block the hate when:

• You are at a party or club, whether it is night or day, throw them on and let them hate
• You are outside
• When it is raining and you are driving, it helps you see the road better
• You need to discreetly give side eye

One last bit, never use a cord with your sunglasses unless you are playing a sport and never put them backward on your neck...you look like an idiot.
