Finding Comfort in Your Own Body

Many people make the mistake of seeing well dressed, confident gentlemen and think that the clothes do it. It's true that the clothes help, but maintaining that confidence requires more than threads. The goal is to be confident in who you are.

People often want to change something about themselves. That's fine. Hell there are a lot of adjustments I would make with the right bank account and a good Plastic Surgeon. But right now, nothing is changing. In this moment you look the way you do. It is important to be comfortable with that and gain confidence from there.

The people that you admire don't get there through doubt. They may get there on their parent's money but success comes from a comfort in oneself. So today I want you to make sure that you are comfortable with your body. Go to a mirror and stare at yourself. Love what you say, but more importantly, accept what you see. We often fight the mirror but that's pointless. If you reject what you see in the mirror, so will others.

But, how do I get comfortable you may ask. I think the most important part is to stop hiding from yourself. Walk around you house naked. Look at yourself. Make sure you know what you look like, what you really look like. Obviously don't do this if you have a roommate home, or your kids are there. I don't want you comfortable to the point of making them uncomfortable. But do it when they are gone.

Others don't need as radical of an approach and can benefit from just looking at themselves in a mirror and saying positive affirmations. What do you like about yourself today? What looks good? We can always find something to compliment in another, find it in yourself too.

Gaining confidence and comfort in your own body will start a domino effect. When you start to like your body you will like yourself, this means you will be more confident in your work, and finally hold yourself like a true gentleman.

I have mirrors installed which are carefully and specifically trained to reveal only the parts of my body which gravity hasn't totally ravaged. I did overhear on the street today though, from one woman to another, "You look different in clothes." That about sums it up. But your main point about thinking positive thoughts about oneself is well taken and critical to our success. Now, off I go for a walk to defy gravity, damn it all!
