Hat Tips August 15

This week in Hat Tips: Summer Fun

Epic Hotel
Facebook Page

I spent the weekend at the Epic Hotel in Downtown Miami and was once again blown away by the service. Checking in Friday evening was painless and ended with me in a standard double double-with a view of the water, the pool deck, and a bed soaked in Frette Linen. How could I ever leave this place? I spent the next day in a cabana by the pool where I could work using their free WiFi and then finish off the day with a pitcher of Mojitos. My final dinner was at their restaurant Area 31. I had duck breast with a balsamic foam and a fried duck cake. It was one of those moments where you close your eyes to eat because the world distracts from the flavor experience. Everyone needs to check out Miami for the weekend and spend the time at Epic.

Cole Haan Loafers
All of my friends will have one response when asked about my shoes "Cole Haan Loafers." I pretty much only wear them and do it every day. In fact my Father garden's in old ones. Why do I love Cole Haan? They are classic. They are durable. They are understated. Unlike some fashion shoes out there, which you will walk right of and the style will fade (which it probably should), Cole Haans are here to stay. Instead of bedazzling their shoes to make them look ridiculous they stuck to a classic look that works and works well. You can wear them with shorts or suits and still feel comfortable. Plus a casual loafer makes the man...and that's the gospel.

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Body Mist Sunblock

It's no secret that I am about as white as they come. My porcelain cooks like nothing else and I can get to lobster status in 15 minutes flat. However this sun tan lotion has saved me many a times. First off, it's a spray and not a lotion. Thank you for this ingenious invention. I HATED rubbing in lotion. The fact that I can just mist and go makes me a happy man. Plus, I am now more likely to reapply because it is so easy. Also it's not greasy. You can't even feel it. You can spend the day bronzing like a god and not have the unfortunate side effect of turning Red, Blotchy, and Greasy. However, this is the most expensive sun screen I have ever used. But I will now only use it because it is that good. Protected skin is worth it.

And there you have it! You can always send more Hat Tips my way under the Contact Me Section.
